Goblin Studios
In 1993 I helped form a comic book publishing company called Goblin Studios. I was 21 at the time and knew nothing about anything -- I just wanted to draw comic books. We released our Goblin Studios #1 in 1994, an anthology of 4 stories all created and produced by local writers and artists. By 1996 we had developed 2 comic lines from those books -- Joe Psycho & Moofrog and The Goblin Lord. Each book saw 6 issues printed and distributed all around the world (we even won the Diamond Gem award for Best New Publisher 1996). In 1998 the comic book industry collapsed and we pivoted the company into animation production ... but that's a story for another project.

The infamous Smiley Button covered issue #3 ... I don't think even I have a copy of this one.

In 1998 as the comics industry was crashing, Fox Kids picked up JP&MF to be their flagship Saturday Morning Cartoon to go up against Spongebob. We were greenlit, went into fevered development and then BOOM ... Disney bought Fox Kids. JP&MF died.
